He tended bar at Ward Smith's Restaurant SE corner of 7th North and Buckley. U.S. Army. Published on April 15, 1987, Post-Standard, The (Syracuse, NY) JAMES DOUGHERTY James H. Dougherty, 74, of 27 Cotty Drive, East Syracuse, died Tuesday at St. Joseph's Hospital after a brief illness. Mr. Dougherty was a life resident of the Syracuse area. He retired as a foreman nine years ago after 32 years with Bristol Laboratories. Mr. Dougherty was a communicant of St. Matthew's Church, East Syracuse, and a member of the Quarter-Century Club of Bristol Labs. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
