| Syracuse physician and surgeon, was so transfixed by steam-operated trains that he began collecting them in 1953, the year after he spotted a narrow gauge Porter locomotive by the side of the road during a family trip to New Mexico. He later bought it and 10 more cars and had them shipped to the 160 acres he owned in Sandy Creek. Dr. Groman put himself through high school, college and medical school by working on the New York Central Railroad I believe he died at Redondo Beach, California 90277 | ||||||||||
