O.C.Mar.5,1823. Will #1861, Registered Feb.5,1867 with Lot 23, Concession 6, Osnabruck Twp. Stormont county, Ontario. Bought north half of lot 23, con.6, Osnabruck twp.On. Apr.18,1866 from Barney Warner. Instrument #1798. (source #71): A51, Martin Aulguire, prayeing for a grant of land as the son of a UE Loyalist, Grant two hundred acres as such 5 Mar. 1823, page 381, A51. At Cornwall on 26 April, 1820, Martin Alguire a son of Martin Alguire, a U.E.L. pet. For land, has arrived at the age of 21, RG1,13,VOL8, A13/51, 4pp. Reel C15611 Nancy's name is not mentioned at the marriage record in Williamsburg Lutheran records but it is assumed that this is the correct couple since other Martins of the time are accounted for. (Still searching for her family name). In his will, Martin just mentions his wife Nancy and children each by name as heirs. She is recorded living with her son David in the census of 1871 on north part of lot 23, Concession 6, Osnabruck Twp. Stormont County, Ontario. According to a letter dated Mar.2, 1998 to me from Illene Fleming, in regards to Nancy's maiden name, she states that: " I think that James her son shows her maiden name as WARNER. And also Martin was James Martin. James death record."-source is http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~sbresearch/martinmartinalguire.html | ||||||||||||||||
