Frank T. Tietz, 67, of 6017 Rita Lane, North Syracuse, died Saturday. Born in New York City, he lived in Syracuse since 1966. He was a dispatcher for the Clay Police and retired in 1996 as one of the original 911 dispatchers for Onondaga County. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War. He was a retired member of the Moyers Corners Fire Department, a charter member of Amvets Post 729 and a member of American Legion Post 787 in Cicero. Survivors: His wife, the former Beverly Dudley Rupert; four daughters, Catherine Francis of Toronto, Theresa Stern of California, Pat Schaffhauser of Ovid and Christine Rupert of North Syracuse; four sons, William Tietz of California, Frank T. Tietz Jr. of Toronto, Larry Rupert of Carthage, Ill., and Michael Rupert of Tampa, Fla.; a sister, Madeline Titz of Hillside, N.J.; a brother, George Titz of Avenel, N.J.; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Maurer Funeral Home Moyers Corners. Burial, Pine Plains Cemetery, Clay.
